This extraordinary island hideaway offer privacy, security, friendliness, splendid climate and unsurpassed beauty.

Most dwellings on the islands are on parcels of significant size. The large lots, coupled with our natural vegetation, provide a privacy buffer for most homes. Driveways tend to wind through trees from the county roads giving great separation from noise, and what little traffic exists.

Award winning services ranging from fire protection, EMT quick response ambulances, emergency medical staffs, and quick helicopter service to St. Joseph's Hospital in Bellingham on the mainland, give assurances that surpass those of most communities. This, coupled with our "on island" medical center, friendly and efficient Sheriffs Dept, offer a sustenance of life free of anxiety over such matters.

Then, there is our climate. We are in the weather "vortex" created by the lofty Olympic Mountains that shelter these islands from many of the Pacific storms that invade the Northwest. Factually, San Juan Island receives little more than half the rainfall measured in Seattle. Many winters find temperatures failing to fall below 32 degrees. Summers are warm but neither hot nor humid. Average highs are about 78 with night times in the 60's. Summers also feature long long days due to the northern position of the San Juans, daylight until 10:30 pm is a feature mid summer.
