The San Juan Islands offer the most crime free, stress free, nuisance free, traffic free way of life in the U.S.

What a pleasant surprise to find that these islands are basically "crime free" and safe. There's just something about being separated from the freeways of the mainland that discourages worrisome behavior. For example, "There has never been an armed robbery in the entire 150 year history of San Juan Island!" Now that is quite a statement.

We also have no stop lights or traffic situations that would require them. The top speed allowed anywhere on the island is 45 mph and that's just about the pace of life! Everything is convenient from getting your new car tabs, (takes 5 minutes) to your grocery shopping, visit to the dentist, or checking on the kids at school. Every thing is close by, every thing is easy!
